As Voluntaryists, we know that government is merely an imaginary political entity which claims a legal monopoly of the use of force and violence within a given geographical area. With this definition in mind, it is only logical to assume that those who would seek to wield the coercive power of government are in fact, psychopaths.
In this edition of our Thoughtcrime Thursdays series, we tell the clandestine tale behind the seminal psychiatric work Political Ponerology. In the second half of the episode, we use American Psycho to help the audience digest and explore this revelation.
